Before joining the Paris office in 2016, Guillemette Payen was Chairman and CEO of Motor Presse France, a Bertelsmann’s special interest publishing house subsidiary, where she drove and accelerated diversification and digital activities, as well as conducting M&A, resizing and cost reduction restructuring programm.
She has more than 25 years of strong leadership and operational experience in managing, developing and driving change in complex environments and fast changing businesses in leading European media companies.
She started her career in Axel Springer Verlag, acquired by the British Emap, then by the Italian Mondadori Group before being hunted by the French Groupe Le Figaro. In growing or turn-around contexts, she developed business, launches and brand stretching, diversification and international activities, and carried out key structuring projects including their substantial HR issues : launches, build-up, asset repositioning or disposals.
These past 7 years, she has been leading the digital transformation, setting up priorities and means,bringing organization and processes in line with the objectives and implementing several digital projects in News, Fashion, Tourism and Sport environments.
Thanks to the various leading brands she was in charge of, Guillemette Payen has a strong expertise in both BtoC and BtoB issues, as well as a thorough understanding of Car, Health, Fashion & Beauty, Luxury, Tourism, Sport and Entertainment industries.
Guillemette Payen is a graduate of ESCP Europe and also holds a Specialized Master in Information and Media Management from ESCP Europe
